Things to do near Hill Farm B&B

Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast is situated in the middle of Devon, surrounded by a great deal of things to do from days at the beach, tourist attractions and beautiful walks to historic buildings and dining at the finest restaurants and great pubs meals.

Our favourite beaches are Saunton Sands and Putsborough to the north and Exmouth to the east. Both are roughly 45 minutes away.

There are too many walks within easy reach of the farm to list them all. Particularly recommended ones are almost anywhere on Dartmoor, starting from Belstone, Sticklepath or the old military camp in Okehampton. Dartmoor can be a bit bleak when the weather is on the wet and windy side which is an ideal time to visit Fingle Bridge and have a more sheltered walk in the wooded valley of the Reiver Teign.

Our favourite restaurant is Les Saveurs at The Seafood Restaurant in Exmouth run by award winning chef Olivier Guyard. Olivier serves the best seafood in Devon, the fish on the menu is often dictated by how well the day's spear fishing has gone. There are several fine dining establishments such as Gidleigh Park, Bovey Castle, Number 22 at Chagford, Lew Trenchard Manor and Michael Caine at The Royal Clarence in Exeter within a drive of Hill Farm. Great pub food can be found at the Post Inn at Whiddon Down, the Taw River at Sticklepath and The Nobody Inn at Doddiscomsleigh a little further away.
